Single Card Policy
Last updated: 14 September 2026
At Naz and Seal, individual Pokémon cards are sold based on the specific card, its condition and the photographs and description shown in the individual product listing.
Because individual Pokémon cards can vary considerably in condition, we provide photographs and descriptions so customers can assess the particular card before purchasing.
1. The Card Shown in the Listing
Where a listing is for a specific individual card, the photographs will normally show the actual card being sold.
Customers should carefully review all available photographs and the written description before placing an order.
The photographs may show details such as:
-
whitening or edge wear;
-
surface marks or scratches;
-
corner condition;
-
centering;
-
print lines or printing imperfections;
-
dents, bends or creases;
-
marks or imperfections on the front or back; and
-
other characteristics that may affect the condition or value of the card.
Any condition issue that is clearly visible in the listing photographs should be taken into account before purchasing.
Where reasonably possible, significant condition issues that may not be sufficiently clear from the photographs will also be mentioned in the product description.
2. Individual Card Identification
Individual Pokémon cards can be difficult to distinguish from another copy of the same card, particularly where multiple copies exist.
To protect both customers and Naz and Seal from accidental or fraudulent card substitutions, we may record information that identifies the particular card supplied with an order.
Depending on the card and its value, this may include:
-
photographs of the front and back of the card;
-
close-up photographs of corners and edges;
-
photographs of whitening, marks, print lines or other imperfections;
-
centering and other condition characteristics;
-
distinctive printing or physical characteristics;
-
the product listing and photographs;
-
order records;
-
pre-dispatch photographs or videos; and
-
other reasonable records used to identify the card supplied.
For higher-value individual cards, we may take additional photographs or other records before dispatch.
These records are used to help establish whether a returned card is the same physical card that was originally supplied.
3. Returns of Individual Cards
Our general Returns and Cancellations Policy applies to individual Pokémon cards, including any statutory cancellation rights applicable to online purchases.
We do not accept the return of a different card from the one supplied.
If a customer returns a single Pokémon card, we may inspect the returned card to establish whether it corresponds with the particular card originally supplied.
This may include comparing the returned card with:
-
the original listing photographs;
-
pre-dispatch photographs;
-
recorded condition details;
-
identifying characteristics;
-
order records; and
-
other relevant evidence available to us.
The card returned must be the same physical card supplied by Naz and Seal.
Nothing in this policy removes or restricts statutory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
4. Suspected Card Substitution
Where a returned single Pokémon card does not appear to be the same card originally supplied, we may temporarily withhold any refund while we investigate the return.
We may compare the returned card against our original listing photographs, pre-dispatch photographs, recorded condition details, identifying characteristics, order records and other relevant evidence.
If we reasonably determine that a different card has been returned, we will notify the customer and explain the basis for our decision.
A substituted card will not be treated as a valid return of the card originally purchased.
Where there is evidence that the original card has been deliberately substituted, altered, replaced or otherwise misrepresented, we reserve the right to take appropriate further action.
This may include:
-
withholding or adjusting a claimed refund where permitted by applicable law;
-
retaining relevant evidence;
-
requesting further information from the customer;
-
investigating the circumstances of the return;
-
seeking appropriate advice or assistance; and
-
reporting suspected fraudulent conduct to the appropriate authorities where appropriate.
We will not automatically assume that a substitution was deliberate where there may be a genuine mistake. We may give the customer an opportunity to provide an explanation or relevant evidence before making a final decision.
Any returned item that is not the card originally supplied will be handled in accordance with applicable law.
Nothing in this policy gives Naz and Seal a right to permanently retain property that legally belongs to the customer.
5. Condition of Single Cards
Unless a listing specifically states otherwise, the photographs and description are our assessment of the condition of the individual card being sold.
We do not guarantee that an individual card will meet a particular grading standard or receive a particular grade from a third-party grading company.
For example, a card described as Near Mint does not guarantee that it would receive a Near Mint or equivalent grade from a professional grading company.
Customers should use the photographs and description provided to assess the condition of the particular card before purchasing.
6. Reviewing the Listing Before Purchase
Customers should carefully review all photographs, the product description and any stated condition information before purchasing an individual card.
If you require additional photographs or information about the condition of a particular card before purchasing, please contact us before placing your order.
Where reasonably possible, we can provide additional photographs or information to help you make an informed decision.
7. Change-of-Mind Returns
Where a customer exercises a statutory right to cancel an online purchase, the applicable cancellation and return procedure in our Returns and Cancellations Policy will apply.
A customer exercising a valid cancellation right does not generally need to provide a reason for cancellation.
Any returned card must be the same physical card supplied by Naz and Seal.
Where permitted by law, we may make an appropriate deduction from a refund where a card has been handled beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect it and its value has consequently been reduced.
Any applicable return postage arrangements are set out in our main Returns and Cancellations Policy.
Nothing in this policy removes or restricts statutory consumer rights.
8. Cards That Are Not as Described, Faulty or Damaged
If you believe that the card you received is materially different from the card shown or described in the listing, please contact us as soon as possible after receiving your order.
Examples may include:
-
receiving a different card from the one purchased;
-
a significant condition issue that was not disclosed and was not reasonably visible from the listing;
-
the card being materially different from the photographs or description; or
-
damage occurring during delivery.
Please provide photographs where appropriate so that we can investigate the issue.
We will assess the issue against the original listing, photographs, description and our order records.
Where appropriate, we may ask for the card to be returned so that we can inspect it.
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights where goods are not as described, are faulty, damaged or otherwise fail to meet the requirements of applicable consumer law.
9. Third-Party Grading
We do not guarantee that an individual card will receive a particular grade from PSA, Beckett, CGC, ACE or any other third-party grading company.
Any condition description provided by Naz and Seal is our own assessment for the purpose of selling the card and should not be treated as a guaranteed professional grading result.
10. Evidence and Verification of Returned Cards
For the protection of both customers and Naz and Seal, we may photograph or otherwise document a returned card during the inspection process.
Where there is a dispute about whether the returned card is the same card originally supplied, we may use our records and the physical characteristics of the card to make a reasonable assessment.
Examples of characteristics that may assist with identification include:
-
whitening patterns;
-
edge wear;
-
corner characteristics;
-
scratches or surface marks;
-
print lines;
-
dents or other imperfections;
-
centering;
-
printing characteristics;
-
factory or production marks; and
-
other distinctive characteristics visible in our records.
Our purpose is to establish whether the card returned corresponds with the particular card supplied, rather than to prevent a customer from exercising a legitimate statutory right.
11. Suspected Fraud or Deliberate Substitution
If there is evidence that a customer has deliberately returned a different card, altered the original card or otherwise attempted to obtain a refund by substitution or deception, we may treat the matter as suspected fraudulent conduct.
We may retain relevant photographs, videos, correspondence, order information and the returned item as evidence for the purposes of investigating and resolving the matter.
Where appropriate, we may report suspected fraudulent conduct to the relevant authorities or seek appropriate legal or professional advice.
Any action taken will be subject to applicable law.
12. Questions Before Purchase
If you are unsure about the condition of a particular card, please contact us before purchasing.
We are happy to provide additional information or photographs where reasonably possible.
